Community Update from InterAction
We have a lot happening, and we are so excited to share it with you.
Matilda the Musical – March 13 & 14
Our Advanced Placement Theatre Group is bringing Matilda to the stage on March 13 and 14, with three performances: two evening shows and one matinee.
This production features our older, more experienced performers who have been working incredibly hard to bring this story to life. Matilda reminds us that small voices can be powerful, that courage comes in many forms, and that young people are capable of extraordinary things. We think that message fits our cast perfectly.
We would love your help in filling the audience. Please share our posts, invite friends, and come celebrate the work of these talented young performers. Showcasing their dedication and growth is one of the best ways to support youth theatre in our community.
We are also deeply grateful to the City of Saint John for providing a grant to support this production. Their encouragement of youth arts makes opportunities like this possible.
Bottle Drive
We are considering organizing another bottle drive to support upcoming programming. If you would be willing to save your recyclables or help coordinate a pickup location, please let us know. More details to come.
New Social-Emotional Programming for Neurodivergent Tweens and Teens
We are thrilled to share that we have received grant funding to support new social-emotional groups for neurodivergent tweens and teens. This programming will be offered in collaboration with a neuro-affirming Occupational Therapist from InfinOT, and we are incredibly excited about what this partnership will bring to our community.
These groups will focus on connection, confidence, emotional regulation, and building supportive peer relationships in a space where youth feel understood and valued.
While we are grateful for the grant support, it does not cover the full cost of the program. There will be some program fees; however, we are actively exploring scholarship opportunities and community support to keep the cost as affordable as possible and maximize access for families.
We are currently developing the details. If you would like your child added to an interest list, please email us with your contact information and your child’s age. We will reach out as soon as registration opens.
Camps Update
March Break camps are in full swing and the energy in the building has been wonderful. We are also preparing to open summer camp registration very soon. Keep an eye on your inbox and our social media for details.
Thank you for continuing to support youth theatre and creative programming in our community. Every show attended, every post shared, and every volunteer hour makes a difference.
